I had the pleasure of working with Michelle Guash on a concept after seeing some of her artwork on Instagram. We'd spoken previously about working together and once I saw her work, I mentioned the concept of photographing an artist while they created a piece.
Hilarious conversations ensued as we discussed the details of the shoot and I explained my styling of making sure it was as natural as possible. She selected the sketch she wanted to paint, put charcoal to canvas, and I photographed the process. With the outline complete, it was time to paint, but Michelle hadn't decided on the colors she wanted to use in the painting and I picked her brain on how she would proceed. She stated she would choose colors based on the mood of the sketch and you can see the images below.
I enjoyed getting to talk with her over the course of the hours we shot and look forward to seeing the piece once its complete.
